Large Celadon and White Bowl
I love making bowls. Since I hand-build using soft slabs, my bowls are pieced together with seams and are never perfectly round. I'm drawn to the organic, natural feel they have, and they look great on a nice oak table filled with fruit, acorns, or left as is.
This bowl was made with porcelain which tends to warp more than stoneware when used in hand building. I love the organic shape and how the blue-green celadon color pops agains the white clay. The outside has a faux bois texture and is left raw, while the inside is glazed with a food safe blue.
