I have to admit, I've been enjoying the break I took and am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I've been taking some time to reflect and decide what I want to focus on for the new year. I have made a few things in the new studio, but have yet to develop a routine. I am waiting on the new kiln to arrive and need to schedule a clay pickup. All my to-dos seem to get pushed to tomorrow.
A body in motion, stays in motion, but once the ball stops rolling, it's difficult to get it moving again. That's the state I'm in. I took my break and I'm ready to get back to work, but need to find the spark. I like working but since I stopped, I am having a hard time getting started again. Trying to think of a blog post this week was difficult, so I thought I'd write about how I'm feeling stuck. Maybe after I click "publish" it will be the motivation to get things moving again.
Being self-employed can be tough at times. A routine and schedule is needed. Monthly, weekly, daily goals are essential. Without them, it's easy to stay stuck and do nothing to move forward. All of this is pretty obvious, and I'm not writing this to convince others, I'm writing this to remind myself to put down the coffee and get my day started.
