Importance of Community

Importance of Community

The first makers market I did thrust me into a community of makers and artists, and a world I always wanted to be a part of but didn't know if I belonged. Many of the makers I met have become close friends. We get together, chat about our personal lives, talk shop, and brainstorm ideas for the future. Sometimes I feel like a puzzle piece desperately trying to fit in and connect. Rather than get frustrated, maybe what I need to realize is I'm a piece of a completely different puzzle which fell into or was placed in the wrong box. Take what you will from this thought, but it has helped me examine how I want to live my life.
